My brother got me hooked on the TV show Vikings [it's on the History Channel; I know Nerd Alert.] It's all about the Scandinavian Viking history and adventure. They, of course, add a dramatic flair with love and violence.
Lagertha, a powerhouse of a woman [and ruler], is a Shield-maiden and runs at the lead of many battles. When they fight to the death, they use a "shield wall" to protect their army. These studs reminded me of just that: a shield wall.
