As the story opens, Broker and Mabel are in their pasture on a bright, sunny day and Broker tells Mabel that his eye hurts. Mabel reassures Broker that the vet will help him the next day. Mabel seeks out several of their animal friends who come by one-by-one to visit Broker and bring him some of their favorite food. Their friends include:
Sammy the Squirrel
Millicent the Muskrat
Tommy the Turkey
Samantha the Snake
The next day, after the vet’s visit, Mabel sees Broker has a black eye patch and learns that he lost his eye. Losing his eye has made Broker very skittish and afraid because the other animals can ‘sneak up’ on him on his ‘blind side’. Each of his friends scares Broker on their next visit and Broker tells Mabel he is afraid that he won’t have friends anymore because he is afraid and different. Mabel meets with the other animals again and tells them about Broker’s ‘blind side’ and asks them to help him with a surprise for Broker. When the animal friends make their last visit in the book, each carries a present for Broker and he realizes that he has really good friends. The book ends with everyone having a picnic by the river.

We offer free local pickup at our store located at 5 E Main St, Waukon, IA 52172. You will receive an automated e-mail when your order is ready for pickup. It only takes us a few minutes to pull your order from the showroom and package it.
Please note that your order may not come in the original box. We take pride in recycling and doing our part to care for the environment. We will utilize the smallest box possible to allow for priority shipping. Please follow our lead and RECYCLE! :)
If your order tracking shows "delivered," but you haven't received it, please contact your local post office. Your local post office or UPS store will GPS the package to locate it for you. If it shows "delivered" and they cannot find your package, please contact your local law enforcement or file a claim with USPS/UPS. Broker Leather is not responsible for packages after they leave our store.
Refunds for store credit on full-price items in their original condition [tags attached, no signs of wear and tear, free from pet hair/pet smell/cigarette smoke/stains, etc.] will be offered up to 30 days from the purchase date. Returns/exchanges cannot be accepted after 30 days.
To complete your return, the form on the reverse side of your packing slip must be included with the product you are returning. Any returns submitted without this accompanying form [or an original receipt for an in-store purchase] will not be eligible for store credit.
The customer is responsible for paying shipping costs for returning the goods. ALL Shipping costs are non-refundable. The original cost of shipping incurred by Broker Leather will be deducted from your store credit. If you applied a discount code to complete your purchase the amount deducted will not be included in the store credit refund and further access to that code may be revoked by the computer system.
Your store credit refund request will be processed within 2-4 business days of receiving your returned package. You will be issued sufficient funds in-store credit via the e-mail address attached to the qualifying order. Store credit does not expire and can be used in-store and/or online.
Gift cards, sale barn items, any item sold at a discount, hats, wild rags, hair clips, sunglasses, and all jewelry are FINAL SALE.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or packing slip as proof of purchase. Please include your receipt or packing slip in the box/bag you are returning.

Exchanges
Please follow the return policy above to exchange your goods for a different size. Once you receive your store credit gift card via e-mail, you can place a separate order online for your desired size (or an entirely different item, if you prefer!)
